Western Cornwall has a very different energy to the Hebrides, but it’s no less inspiring.
The quality of the light here is simply different. Softer, more luminous, and constantly shifting. It’s no surprise that artists have always been drawn to Cornwall for inspiration.

This workshop is built around tapping into that.

Cornwall Capture to Print is about spending time with the sea, learning to respond to it, and shaping more expressive, abstract images using ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) across a six day capture to print experience.

I’ll show you how I approach a scene, how I work with movement and timing, and how small changes in technique can completely alter the feeling of an image.

We’ll be working in places like Sennen Cove and Porthcurno, choosing locations day by day based on the conditions. There’s no rigid plan. The coastline and the light decide the pace.

When we’re not out shooting, we’ll be back at our base editing together. I’ll take you through my full fine art workflow, helping you select, refine, and prepare your images properly for print.

This is a key part of the workshop.

Each guest will leave with two 20cm fine art prints, professionally produced and framed from images made during the workshop. 

We’ll be based in a beautiful five bedroom Cornish villa, with five double en suite rooms, so everyone has their own private space.

The house has a large kitchen where all meals are prepared, and plenty of room to relax between shoots. 

There are extensive grounds and secure parking, so you’re welcome to arrive by car and leave it there for the week.

For shooting locations, we travel together in a comfortable eight seat van. Distances are short, rarely more than thirty minutes, and there’s plenty of space for people and gear.

Groups are kept very small. With just four guests, I’m able to spend real time with each person, helping you refine your approach and build a small, consistent body of work.

This workshop is ideal for photographers interested in abstract work who want to develop their ICM style.

It’s not about chasing conditions or ticking off locations.
It’s about working carefully, learning to see differently, and coming away with photographs that feel finished.
