Western Cornwall feels very different to the Outer Hebrides.

The coastline is more sheltered, the colours are warmer, and the quality of light is unique. It's easy to see why artists have been drawn here.

Cornwall Capture to Print is a six-day workshop focused on creating abstract seascape photographs using intentional camera movement.

We'll spend our time photographing locations such as Sennen Cove and Porthcurno, choosing where to work each day based on the conditions. There is no fixed itinerary. We go where the light, weather, and sea are working best.

I'll show you how I approach a location, how I use shutter speed and camera movement to simplify a scene, and how small adjustments can produce very different results.

When we're not out photographing, we'll be back at the house editing together. I'll take you through my complete workflow, from image selection and processing through to preparing files for print.

Printing is an important part of the workshop.

Each guest will leave with a fine art print made from photographs taken during the week, printed, mounted, and framed.

We'll be staying in a spacious five-bedroom Cornish house. Every guest has their own double en-suite room, giving you plenty of space to relax between shoots.

The house has a large kitchen, comfortable communal areas, extensive grounds, and secure parking.

For photography sessions, we travel together in a comfortable eight-seat van. Most locations are within thirty minutes of the house.

Group size is limited to four guests.

That allows me to spend time with each photographer individually, helping with camera technique, image selection, editing, and printing.

This workshop is aimed at photographers who want to explore abstract seascape photography and develop their use of intentional camera movement.

We aren’t aiming to visit as many locations as possible or tick off hot spots.

The goal is to spend a week making photographs, refining them, and leaving with finished prints.
