London Street Photography & ICM – 1 Day Workshop

Join me for a full day exploring London’s streets with a creative twist. Over the past year, I’ve been working quietly on my own street photography practice, blending classic street techniques with Intentional Camera Movement . Now I’m ready to share that process with you.

This workshop is designed for photographers who want to push beyond the literal and start making more expressive, story-rich images. We’ll spend the day walking through some of London’s most vibrant areas, from bustling markets and hidden alleyways to modern architectural spaces, seeking moments, shapes, light, and movement that tell a story. Even if the weather is against us there will be plenty of opportunities.

Along the way, I’ll guide you through:

  • How to see the city like an artist, spotting visual opportunities in unexpected places

  • Using ICM to add atmosphere, abstraction, and emotion to your street work

  • Techniques for capturing authentic moments without disrupting the flow of life around you

  • Creative exercises to help you break habits and experiment with new perspectives

Any camera can be used for this workshop, whether mirrorless, DSLR, or a compact system. The ideal setup would be something like a Fujifilm X-T body with a 16–80mm f/4 lens (full-frame equivalent 24–120mm f/4) and perhaps a fast prime such as a 35mm f/2 (50mm full-frame equivalent) for low light or a different look. A 3–4 stop ND filter is useful for ICM work.

If you prefer to travel really light, something like the Fujifilm X100VI is a great choice, I use one myself and love the simplicity, the lightweight design, and the built-in ND filter.

You’re welcome to get in touch if you’d like to discuss your kit beforehand.

No tripod will be required.

We’ll break for lunch at a local café or restaurant, giving us a chance to rest, review, and talk photography,  before heading back out for the afternoon session.

The pace is relaxed, with plenty of time for questions, demonstrations, and informal discussions. This is less about technical perfection and more about building your creative confidence, exploring your personal style, and coming away with a small series of images that truly feel like yours.

Group size is kept small so you’ll get plenty of one-to-one attention, and the day is suitable for all experience levels, whether you’re new to street photography or looking to shake things up in your current work.

What Clients Say

"This was my second workshop with Chris to the Isle of Harris, and like the first trip it was a fantastic experience. Chris introduced me to ICM during my first trip and with his experience, patience and enthusiasm, it gave me another outlook on photography to bring home.  Chris’s choice of locations and the best time to shoot, was invaluable. There was plenty of opportunity for one-on-one time with Chris, be it during the day or during the evening processing the days catch. This was a real great benefit and provided an insight into all aspects of photography.  It was great getting to know everyone in the group as well, great camaraderie, even when you’re fighting the sand and rain at times, but it’s worth it, believe you me.I would thoroughly recommend any of Chris’s workshops, to any keen photographer who wants to improve their photography, as I have had with Chris on the Isle of Harris.

Thanks Chris for a both trips to Harris, a tremendous experience.
