Glencoe Workshop DEC 2018 - Chris Davis Photography

Join me for a 4-day photography workshop in the amazing Glencoe in the Scottish Highlands. We will spend our time in Glencoe and the surrounding areas visiting some iconic and some less well-known but equally amazing locations in pursuit of great light.

This is one of my favourite locations and I have been visiting here since 2010 and never tire of it. On this exciting workshop, we will have a small group size so you will be sure to get plenty of 1-2-1 tuition, making sure you learn as much as possible in the time we have together.

• Easily Accessible Locations , with the odd occasional short walk required.

One of the first locations I started visiting specifically for Landscape photography was Glencoe and it's one I have returned to repeatedly. Of all the places around the world I have travelled to since, in pursuit of photographing the finest Landscapes, I always return to Scotland & Glencoe. It just has everything you could possibly want, awe inspiring mountains, intricate rivers, vast moorlands, changeable weather and all in a very compacted accessible area. The perfect location to run a Landscape Photography & post processing Workshop. Most of the images on this page were captured on last years(2017) workshops. So you can expect anything from sunny days to snowy blizzards and everything inbetween !

We will be out in the field as much as we can, working on creative compositions & how to capture RAW files that allow us to maximize the captured data when we get back to the processing stages. We will have plenty of time to get stuck into the processing side of things, where I can show you how to produce stunning images in relatively short time & using minimal number of tools in Lightroom & Photoshop. The aim of this workshop is to teach you how to get the most out of your time in the field and how to creatively edit your RAW files in Post Production. Each participant will have time to work on their own images on the workshop, where I will be on hand to help guide you on new tools and techniques.

Unless it's impossible to get out, we will be out shooting. If due to very bad conditions we can't get out we will have plenty of Lightroom & Photoshop tips & techniques we can explore at the cottage.

I have booked out a lovely 4-bedroom cottage on the outskirts of Glencoe. We used this cottage last year and it is perfect .Having this private accommodation, we will have plenty of time and space to come and go as we please and a comfy environment in which to process our images when not out shooting . Each bedroom is spacious and has its own bathroom.

what some of previous participant have to say:

" I attended a 4 day worksop in Glencoe which was very well planned and organised. Chris has an infectious passion for photography come rain or shine (or blizzard) which made the whole experience very enjoyable. The group size is small so each photographer got a good deal of attention at each location and meant that we had ample space to get the shots we wanted. I came away from the trip with a new approach to landscape photography so would highly recommend Chris’s workshops."  DEREK ROBISON

"Chris was Friendly, down to earth and good at both photography and advanced post processing. Very Good knowledge of the area and good knowledge of the sunrise & sunsets and how that impacted shooting at different times of the day. The accommodation and meals out were all to a high standard. Highly recommended "DAVE SEIPP

"After spending an enjoyable few days with Chris in Glencoe I came away with a whole host of new techniques and skills to take forward into my landscape photography. Chris was very down to earth and made every effort possible to get us into great spots to get memorable shots, I would highly recommend one of Chris workshops: PETER STOPELL

Even with full days of shooting we usually manage to get in 2-3 processing sessions each day , these are fairly basic in setup , typically myself and 3 guests around the computer and we select an image to work on. These sessions are recorded via desktop recording software which record video and audio . The sessions can last anything from 30-90 minutes ,and at the end of the workshop all the videos are collated and made available for download for all workshop participants. This is usually over 6 hours of processing videos covering the whole range of processing tips and techniques to refer too when processing your own shots after the workshop has finished.
